Is Interacting with Tech Support Like Dealing with Monkeys?

Monkey Business

This was an actual live chat conversation one of our clients had with a previous web host before moving over to us. It was quite possibly the funniest thing we have been sent by a client in our 13+ years in business. The only things altered are the names of the people in the chat and the URLs displayed.

Enjoy!

Web_host_tech: Hi Client. My name is Web_host_tech, how are you today?

Client: very good
Client: i have a question regarding files uploaded to shopsite

Web_host-tech: Okay.

Client: so our store is located at public_html/store

Web_host_tech: Yes, your ShopSite store will be located at the path: /public_html/store .

Client: but when ShopSite spits out img src code it is looking here: http://client_site/store/media/ADC_uploaded_button.jpg
Client: so it comes up broken

Web_host_tech: Client, we do not support uploading files manually to your /store folder.

Client: this file was uploaded through shopsite

Web_host_tech: If there is any issue, then you need to resolve it on your end.

Client: it is an Add To Cart button uploaded through shopsite, during the wizard setup

Web_host_tech: Okay.

Client: and any file that is uploaded using shopsite ends up having a broken link

Web_host_tech: May I place you on hold while I look into this for you? I should have some more information regarding your issue in 2-4 minutes.

Client: yes

Web_host_tech: Thank you for holding
Web_host_tech: Can you please access your image by going to the link:
Web_host_tech: http://url/store/media/ADC_uploaded_button.jpg

What the client actually saw for their Add to Cart button!
