Canon GHO selects LexiConn to host website for PGA TOUR event
COLCHESTER, CT – June 10, 2002 – LexiConn Internet Services, a privately held provider of web hosting and e-commerce services, announced today that it has been selected by the Canon Greater Hartford Open to provision web hosting service for the upcoming PGA TOUR event.
With tens of thousands of visitors expected to browse the Canon GHO website over the week long event (June 17-23), LexiConn has put dedicated resources and monitoring software in place to ensure that the site flawlessly delivers web content to the fans of PGA golf. The relationship with the Canon GHO validates LexiConn’s Managed Server business model; providing proactive support combined with cutting edge hardware solutions to deliver content for the most demanding of websites.
“The Canon GHO presents a unique challenge,” says Robert Mangiafico, CTO of LexiConn. “There will be a large amount of concentrated activity over a short period of time, which means our network and services must be able to scale up quickly to meet that demand.” The Canon GHO is the second largest attended PGA TOUR event, which translates to a high amount of web traffic as well.
LexiConn has provided hosting for many large companies and websites in the past, but the Canon GHO is a special event. “It is always exciting to provide service to an event of this magnitude,” remarks Jason McGrath, CEO of LexiConn. “Even more importantly, it provides LexiConn an opportunity to help out with an event that has a tremendous impact in sustaining the community services provided by the Greater Hartford Jaycees.”
